Fr Nicholas Wheeler is a highly regarded local priest who is leaving the Parish of Old St Pancras in Camden to work as Priest Missioner in Cidade de Deus, one of the most disadvantaged communities of Rio de Janeiro. No more than 3% of young people in this community complete secondary education, a quarter of residents are unemployed and an average income is just £50 a month. Fr Nicholas will be working for the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil under the umbrella of USPG.
